ㅤ It has been said, 'time heals all wounds.' I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone.ㅤ
Unveiling EDWARD YEO !
Edward Liam Yeo, born Yeo Woo Jin (여우진), is a Korean-Australian, Columbia University’s Film Graduate Student and also a former child actor. Born on August 13, 1997, in Sydney, Australia, he is the only child of the Yeo family. His unexpected journey into the entertainment industry began when he was just five years old. Without telling him beforehand, his mother submitted his photos to a casting call for a Korean milk commercial. To her delight, Edward was selected from thousands of applicants. That became his first appearance in front of a camera, marking the beginning of a career he never saw coming.
With his bright smile and sparkling eyes, Edward quickly won over audiences across South Korea. He became one of the country's most loveable child actors, appearing in numerous commercials, television dramas, and films. One of his most notable performances was portraying the young Crown Prince in the critically acclaimed historical film The Clowned Crown, a role that earned widespread praise and cemented
his reputation as one of the industry's brightest young talents. Then, almost as suddenly as he had appeared, Edward Yeo disappeared and seemed to get swallowed by the earth
Unknown to the public, the intense filming schedule and overwhelming pressure of child stardom had taken a significant toll on his mental health. During one particularly demanding filming, he experienced a severe panic attack. His parents made the difficult decision to take a break from the entertainment industry. The family kept his struggles private, allowing Edward the space to recover and live a relatively normal upbringing, away from public attention.
Back in Australia, Edward focused on his education. Because his family moved frequently between Korea and Australia, he had attended several different schools before eventually graduating from the prestigious Sydney High School. Constantly changing environments made it difficult for him to form lasting friendships, contributing to his socially awkward nature and reserved personality.
ㅤ Although acting was behind him, his love for cinema never disappeared.ㅤ
Growing up, the Yeo family shared a tradition of watching films together, especially those directed by the legendary filmmaker Isaak Siegfried. Edward admired not only Isaak's storytelling but also the emotional depth of his films, which inspired him to pursue filmmaking. His dream had now shifted from standing in front of the camera to creating stories behind it.After graduating from high school, Edward got accepted into Columbia University in the U.S, where he studied filmmaking. For his undergraduate thesis, he was given the extraordinary opportunity to interview his lifelong idol, Director Isaak Siegfried. Despite years of studying his work, Edward found himself completely star-struck during the interview, struggling to hide his admiration. Little did he know that this meeting would completely change the course of his life.
Unfortunately shortly before his graduation, tragedy struck. It was supposed to be a joyous occasion but when Edward's parents flew to the United States to attend the graduation ceremony, they would never arrive. Overnight, Edward became an orphan.
Losing both parents in such a tragic accident left him emotionally shattered and directionless. During the darkest periods of his life, when he had almost given up, Isaak Siegfried reached out to him. Isaak offered him a position on his filmmaking team, giving the young graduate the opportunity he had dreamed about since childhood.Working under his greatest inspiration became both a blessing and a lifeline.
To him, Isaak was more than just a mentor, he had basically saved his life. Although Edward wanted nothing more than to dedicate himself entirely to work, Isaak encouraged him to continue his education and pursue a Master's degree at Columbia University. Edward didn’t really want to but he eventually reluctantly agreed, only because he had no other choice but to do what his savior asked for him.
By 2026, he’s half way done and trying to divide his time between his University and Los Angeles, or wherever filming takes him, balancing graduate studies with his work.

ㅤ The loss of his parents left more than emotional scars.ㅤ
For years afterward, Edward developed an intense fear of flying. He was once someone who enjoyed adrenaline-filled activities like paragliding, he now found himself unable to board an airplane without overwhelming anxiety. Traveling for work became one of his greatest challenges. Through patience, encouragement, and relentless support from Isaak, Edward gradually confronted his fear. While it never completely disappeared, he eventually learned to manage it well enough and managed to board planes nowadays without making much fuss.Outside of filmmaking, Edward is surprisingly quirky despite his quiet demeanor. He loves eating and trying out new food and has an infamous habit of ordering Hawaiian pizza with triple the usual amount of pineapple, much to the horror of his friends, who insist it should be considered a culinary crime.
ㅤA withdrawn young man who’s learning to unveil his guard.ㅤ
Those who know Edward describe him as intelligent, thoughtful, and observant, but also hopelessly clumsy. He always looked for something but somehow the young man never lost it. He often overthinks conversations, struggles with small talk, and tends to keep people at arm's length until he feels comfortable. Years of moving between schools and growing up in an all-boys school left him socially awkward, making it difficult for him to express himself openly. He is very much a closed book, revealing his thoughts only to the handful of people he truly trusts. But once he opened up, he treasures those closest to him the most, he values them and becomes protective of them.Despite his quiet exterior, Edward possesses a deep passion for movies. Every film he hopes to create carries the influence of the family who first taught him to love cinema and the mentor who helped him find his way again after losing everything.
